EQUAL, Birds of Paradise, and the community building upon each other.
Journey with Birds of Paradise for EQUAL
It's our 5th birthday, and we're inviting our BOP community to Journey with Birds of Paradise for EQUAL. For one year from July 2021 to June 2022, we aim to raise funds through monthly donations to build up a sustainable source of income for this young charity.
We started working with EQUAL in 2019 and witnessed first-hand the dedication and sincerity of their team in fulfilling their mission with horses and human beneficiaries, and have since committed to being their long-term community partner to support and grow with them.
Like us humans, the sixteen horses at EQUAL are on their journey through life. Remarkably, they have been rescued from their previous predicaments - some about to be put to sleep because they can no longer run fast enough for the races and the punters - and are now trained to provide animal-assisted therapy to human beneficiaries. In their new lease of life, they touch over 1,500 human lives - their empathy and non-judgmental nature have brought broken families together, rebuilt confidence in troubled youths, and improved the emotional well-being of elderly with dementia.
Two ways you can Journey with Birds of Paradise for EQUAL from July 2021 to March 2022:
(1) Make a monthly donation (min. $10/month) to EQUAL via giving.sg/equal, and BOP will match dollar-for-dollar (up to a cap of $5,000 in matching funds*). In addition, we will indulge you with a complimentary single scoop of gelato on a thyme cone each quarter^, and offer sign-ups for visits to the EQUAL stables#
(2) Make a one-off donation to EQUAL via giving.sg/equal, and BOP will match dollar-for-dollar (up to a cap of $5,000 in matching funds*), and offer sign-ups for visits to the EQUAL stables#
* The cap of $5,000 in matching funds is applied to the total of donations (monthly and one-off) made to EQUAL via giving.sg/equal

# Stable visits may be organised when the COVID19 situation stabilises, and may be subject to prevailing Safe Management Measures, operational constraints, and capacity quotas.
